Tosa Shrine is located in the northern part of Kochi City, and has been worshiped as first shrine of Tosa Province since ancient times. The deities enshrined here are Ajisukitakahikone and Hitokotonushi.
The main shrine, which was donated by Chosokabe Motochika, known as the feudal lord of the Warring States period who unified Shikoku district, has a rare “cross-shaped dragonfly” design. It has been designated as a national important cultural property along with the bell tower.
